Foyer Tips Choosing a Light Fixture

A factor in determining whether to hang a flush mount, semi-flush mount, pendant or a chandelier is to make sure the bottom is at least 7 feet from the floor.

For multi-story foyers with a window above the front door consider centering the chandelier so it can be seen from outside.

If you have a foyer that is very large you may want to add wall sconces. Sconce should be installed about 60" off the floor and be 6 to 8 feet apart.

There really is not a set rule for the diameter of a foyer fixture.  We like to see a visual balance without overwhelming the space while still providing a statement.
